Congrats Heather and Rye!

Well my high school friends are adding another baby to the bunch!  Next up are Heather and Rye :)  Heather is always super cute so it's no surprise she makes an adorable pregnant lady.  We got together on the third Sunday in May to celebrate.  We spent the day at the park grilling out, watching the kids play with sticks, catching up, oohing and ahhing over gifts for baby Hudson, and hanging out in the playground.

Beer and Pancakes

So in the last couple years Kevin has picked up the hobby of beer.  He soaks information up like a sponge so he has become quite the beer connoisseur.  I must admit I have no complaints (as long as he sticks to budget!) and I like it too.  I just can’t remember everything like he does so I still don’t know what the heck I’m talking about when it comes to beer (well maybe I don’t give myself enough credit, I have a little clue).

Anyway so we heard about the Brick Store Pub’s Pancakes and Yard Sale event last year but Kevin was in a wedding that weekend, so we were thrilled when we found out we were free to go to their 2nd annual Pancakes and Yard Sale event this year!

We met two of Kevin’s coworkers there around 7:30am and the line was already down the side of the building.

Luckily one of his coworkers got in line at 7:00am and we got to get a table with him.

Doors opened at 8:00am.  We got a great table up top on the balcony overlooking all of the commotion.

We all ordered a round of Canadian Breakfast Stout, a beer that is aged in bourbon barrels that have previously had bourbon and then maple syrup aged in them.  All of us kind of chuckled about the fact that we were enjoying a beer at 8:00 in the morning.

Then we had Kentucky Breakfast Stout and Blushing Monk.  They were for the most part beers that you can’t get very often so it was a treat.

Plus the breakfast was delicious.

AND they also have a yard sale of beer glasses and we got some really cool Terrapin barrel shaped glasses for $2.50 each.

I hope we're able to go again next year!!

Edwards Family Reunion

The last weekend in April a bunch of my family got together at the McDonald Farm for the Edwards Family Reunion.  It was really the first official “reunion” we’ve had.  We have had many Christmas gatherings, summer parties, and birthday parties for our Aunt Iba that brought us together at the McDonald Farm, but several years have passed since those events.  As generations have expanded and deceased we had to be intentional about getting everyone together – so, the Edwards Family Reunion was organized!

We enjoyed Sprayberry’s Bar-B-Que and homemade desserts, reminiscing about those who have passed, and creating new memories with all of the new additions to the family (our family sure does make pretty babies!).

We took turns impersonating old family members and everyone had to guess who was being impersonated…our family is/was full of quite the characters!

We looked through old photo albums...

My mom and her first cousins/siblings took a picture under the same doorway that we have the same picture of all of their parents...

The children enjoyed the animals...

We played Ring Around the Rosie (per Hayes' request!)...

And overall just enjoyed catching up with everyone.  It felt good to be back at the house where so many childhood memories are kept by so many people!

Just some other pictures from the day...

Kinda random...Newnan had local artists paint these horses and they were placed throughout downtown for a temporary display and it was the talk of the town!  After the reunion Kevin and I went and walked around downtown Newnan looking at the horses.
