The first full weekend of January my mom, Mrs. Jane, Petti, and I took a fun little day trip to Chattanooga to see my friend Rachel. Mrs. Jane = Rachel's mom, Petti = one of Mrs. Jane's and my mom's best friends. Rachel and I became the best of friends when I was in Kindergarten and she was in 1st grade. Both of our moms worked at our elementary school so we would hang out after school together. It wasn't long before we were frequently spending the night over at each other's houses and going on all of our family trips together! We always got asked if we were twins (not just sisters but twins!), and we've even gotten that in recent years! I guess I see some similarity, but it always made us laugh that people would actually ask if we were twins :)
We usually have lunch at Sprayberry's on Rachel's birthday (also known as Christmas Eve) but we didn't get to do that this year, so that called for a trip to Chattanooga! We ate lunch and drank Bloody Marys at Boathouse Rotisserie and Raw Bar right on the Tennessee River, spent some time at a neat fabric shop so Petti could pick out fabric for her pillows (made me wish I was crafty and had something to use fabric for!), went to a cute little doughnut shop called Julie Darling Donuts (we had red velvet, maple, and chocolate creme filling, yum!), shopped around an antique store, and caught up back at Rachel's condo, where we had uncomfortable but hilarious conversations with our mothers about the underlying sexual context of a certain Saturday Night Live skit! It was a fun day indeed!
We had such a fun day. Just like old times! Somedays I wish I could go back into time. You remember every name of every place we visited! Glad I have you to spark my memory! I'm so glad you are blogging. Love you, Mom
